Botball® Orientation

I’m registered for Botball®… now what?!?

The Botball® Team Orientation area is designed to answer that question. While everything you need to know about Botball® is covered at the Educator Workshop, we’ve heard that some of you would like to become familiar with the process and the equipment in advance. Here’s your chance! This site will provide important information you’ll need to know to plan your Botball® experience and gives ideas and activities that will help familiarize you and your team with the kit, software, and website.

There are five basic things you can do to get started with Botball®:

  1. Get Started by knowing the ground rules.

This section will review the basic information you need to know about deadlines, attendance requirements, tournament expectations, etc. and point you towards the details for the current year.

  2. Organize Your Team

There are a variety of ways to organize your Botball® team. View the basics of team structure, get ideas on recruiting students, and access the tools for fundraising and publicity.

  3. Familiarize yourself with Your Robot kit and software

Even if you don’t have your kit in hand, this section will introduce you to what is included, and point you toward warm up activities and the latest version of our software, so you can get started right away.

  4. Use Your Home Base

Your team’s Home Base is designed to provide you with important information, technical support, and tools for managing your Botball® website(s). This section guides you through logging in to the homebase, and introduces you to its resources.

  5. Get Tips from Teams

Because Botball® is so flexible, teams have implemented the program in a number of ways. View creative ideas from Botball® teams and team leaders that may be applicable for you.
